Description
Tarpon are known for their acrobatic abilities and can jump 10 feet out of the water and can swim up to 35 mph. They are close relatives to the ladyfish and skipjack. Tarpon are capable of filling themselves with air, giving them the predatory advantage over other species when the oxygen levels in the water are low.
